How does this survey fit into the city's resilience efforts?
This survey is part of the City of Milwaukie's broader efforts to strengthen community resilience. The information gathered will help implement strategies identified in the City's Climate Action Plan (CAP) and inform updates to the Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan (NHMP) and the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).
By learning more about community connections, trusted gathering places, and local assets, the city can make more informed decisions about emergency preparedness, resilience planning, and future investments that support all Milwaukie residents.

What are the potential outcomes of this project?
One of the potential outcomes of this project will be the establishment of Milwaukie's Resilience Hub Network — a network of trusted community spaces designed to support community well-being and meet community needs before, during, and after emergencies and disasters. Resilience hubs are community-serving spaces such as libraries, schools, community centers, faith-based organizations, and other gathering places. During emergencies, these spaces can provide information, resources, assistance, and opportunities for people to connect and support one another. Just as importantly, they help strengthen the relationships, trust, and sense of belonging that make communities more resilient every day.
