Our neighborhood’s rural character is one of the main reasons we choose to live here, and recent proposals and active work for major roadway and bicycle‑lane additions raise serious concerns for many residents. The existing roads are already narrow and challenging to navigate safely. Adding new bike travel lanes would further constrict these roads, increasing safety risks rather than reducing them.
Additionally, given that our region experiences rain a significant portion of the year, many residents feel that large investments in expanded bike infrastructure do not reflect practical, everyday use. For this reason, many of us see such expenditures as an inefficient use of taxpayer dollars.
We believe that decisions involving substantial public spending and changes that directly affect all residents should be placed on the ballot. This ensures that the entire community—not only the city council—has a meaningful voice in determining the future of our neighborhood.
We value our rural environment and do not wish to see it transformed into something resembling the dense urban design of the City of Portland. It is also important to acknowledge that many of our residents are aging, and it is not equitable or realistic to assume they should walk or bike long distances along busy corridors.
Traffic in our area is already severe and continues to worsen due to clustered housing developments and new apartment construction. Before introducing additional infrastructure that may intensify these issues, we believe it is essential to prioritize safety, practicality, and genuine community input.
We respectfully request that these considerations be fully evaluated and that any major infrastructure changes be brought before the voters.

Have these drawings and specs been published in the past? Great drawings, very easy to read and understand.
